5th Afternoon for Doctorates
Since 2012, the Afternoon for Doctorates provides the opportunity for doctoral researchers at TH Köln to get to know each other and be in contact with members of the university governance. Apart from an information session on different subjects, the event provided the opportunity to discuss personal requirements and voice wishes and criticism.
On January 26th 2016 the Department for Research and Knowledge Transfer organized the 5th Afternoon for Doctorates. The Vice-President for Research and Knowledge Transfer, Prof. Dr. Klaus Becker, informed the 37 present doctoral researchers about the current process of cooperative doctorates at Universities of Applied Sciences and about the establishment of the new Graduate Center at TH Köln. After a presentation about the services of the new Graduate Center from the main contacts Ulrike Kreger and Elena Martins, the present doctoral researchers elected two speakers for the newly established doctoral convent. The event ended with a social get-together, which helped to stir multi-disciplinary exchange between the doctoral researchers.
