9th Afternoon for Doctorates
On November 20th 2019, the 9th Afternoon for Doctorates of TH Köln provided an opportunity for Doctoral Researchers to get to know each other and exchange ideas. Besides the networking opportunity, the event also included extensive information about the program for doctoral researchers as well as a three presentations of researchers who had completed their doctorates in 2019.
After an opening by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Becker, Vice President for Research and Knowledge Transfer, the program of Graduate Center of TH Köln as well as the Graduate Institute NRW was presented.
Following that, the Start-Up Service and the cooperation with „Young Entrepreneurs in Science” was presented. This initiative hosts workshops for doctorates who are interested in founding their own Start-Up, doctoral researchers at TH Köln may apply for these workshops.
After a presentation about the possibilities for a stay abroad during doctoral studies which also included current doctoral researchers sharing their experiences, the participants engaged in an interactive exchange about topics related to their doctorate. Finally, three researchers who had recently completed their doctorates presented their research.
The Afternoon for Doctorates is organized up to twice a year by Graduate Center of TH Köln, in cooperation with the Doctoral Convent. It takes place since 2012.
The 10th afternoon for doctorates will take place in May/June 2020, and all Doctoral Researcher of TH Köln are invited.
