7th Afternoon for Doctorates
On Monday November 12th 2018, Graduate Center organized the 7th Afternoon for Doctorates with the participation of 22 doctoral researchers. The afternoon was organized in cooperation with the speakers of the doctoral convent.
After a greeting by Prof. Dr. Klaus Becker, Vice-President for Research and Knowledge Transfer, the program of Graduate Center was presented. Afterwards three doctoral researchers, who had recently concluded their doctorates talked about their doctorate research at TH Köln.
During the break, the doctoral researchers from all faculties had the chance to get to know each other. Then, as part of a World Café, the doctoral researchers discussed questions concerning the doctoral programs at TH Köln. Finally, the results were examined together with the Prof. Dr. Klaus Becker. At the end of the event, there was a presentation of the future events for the doctoral researchers at TH Köln.
Since 2012, the Afternoon for Doctorates provides the opportunity for doctoral researchers at TH Köln to get to know each other and be in contact with members of the university governance. Apart from an information session on different subjects, the event provided the opportunity to discuss personal requirements and voice wishes and criticism.
