After an opening address by Prof. Dr. Klaus Becker, Vice President for Research and Knowledge Transfer, the new online workshop program for doctoral researchers was presented by Mirjam Heetkamp from Graduate Center Service Desk. Afterwards, the doctoral researchers engaged in a conversation about the topics time- and self-management, facilitated by Dr. Matthias Mayer from mmsc.de. In small groups, they exchanged tips for “doctoral research in times of corona”.

Finally, there was a question round with the facilitator and the university governance. The participants also gave direct feedback about the event in a short evaluation form.

Since 2012, doctoral researchers have an opportunity for networking and getting in touch with the university governance through the regular “Afternoon for Doctorates”. Next to information concerning doctoral research at TH Köln, the event provides a regular panel to express thoughts, criticism or desires with regard to the general process of obtaining a doctorate at TH Köln.
