Become a COIL-ready educator and bring global collaboration into your classroom.

This blended workshop equips you with the skills, confidence, and practical experience to design and teach international Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) sessions. Through hands-on practice, co-teaching, and asynchronous preparation, you will learn how to build meaningful virtual exchange experiences for your students.

Format & Key Dates  

Asynchronous Preparation (self-paced) (5 October – 27 November 2026)

As a registered participant, your first task is to complete the guided online learning modules covering COIL fundamentals, digital tools, learning outcomes, and activity design. Your second task is to outline your COIL course idea on Padlet and submit it online by 15 October 2026

Afterward, you will be matched with a co-teacher by 19 October 2026 and begin working on your third task: preparing your joint COIL teaching simulation, which needs to be handed in as a draft by 10 November 2026.  

During the asynchronous preparation, the following dates are mandatory:

5 October 2026, 15:00 CET: Q&A Kick-off
21 October 2026, 11:00 CET: Meet Your Co-teacher
10 November 2026 (time still to be decided): Q&A Simulation

Live Online Workshop (30 November 2026, 09:00–12:00 CET)

A highly interactive 3-hour session featuring:

•          Teaching simulations in small groups
•          Real-time feedback from facilitators
•          Parallel breakout rooms for personalized support
•          A final plenary reflection to consolidate learning

•        Practical experience through six structured teaching simulations

•        A clear understanding of learning outcomes, intercultural engagement, and effective digital tools

Who Should Join?

Educators from PIONEER partner institutions who are ready to innovate their teaching and offer students meaningful global learning experiences. Cohort size is limited to 12 participants for optimal interaction and personalized feedback.
