Exchange and Networking

At TH Köln there are currently more than 240 doctoral researchers from all faculties who are doing their doctorate as part of a cooperative doctorate. The networking of doctoral candidates within the university and with the respective scientific community is a particular concern of the university.

Representation: Doctoral Researchers Convention of TH Köln

On the afternoon for doctorates, the doctoral candidates at TH Köln elected two speakers to represent the doctoral researchers convention. The doctoral researchers convention is the representation of all doctoral candidates united in Graduate Center.

It serves to create networks among the doctoral candidates and to represent their interests across disciplines. The speakers are available to answer questions from all those interested in doing a doctorate. In addition, the doctoral representatives take on the role of the doctoral candidate's mouthpiece in regular meetings with representatives of the university management.

Next Afternoon for Doctorates

The next afternoon for doctorates will take place on October 22nd, 2024. An invitation and more detailed information on the content of the event can be obtained from the mailing list.

Cross-faculty networking: Afternoons for doctorates

Since 2012, the Afternoon for doctorates provides doctoral candidates at TH Köln the opportunity to get to know each other personally and to talk to the university management twice a year. In addition to an information section on changing topics, the event also offers a regular forum to express your own needs, wishes and criticism.

Informal exchange of doctoral researchers

The doctoral representatives have set up a working group in TH Spaces that works like a "peer-to-peer" marketplace. The aim is to promote cross-faculty, interdisciplinary exchange and interaction between doctoral researchers at TH Köln: Tandems / teams can form here, event notices can be posted and tips and tricks can be exchanged.

Scientific Exchange

At some faculties or institutes of the TH Köln there are discipline-related offers for scientific exchange and networking as part of the doctorate, for example in the form of doctoral colloquia. Specialist conferences are ideal for international exchange and networking with the scientific community - speak to your supervisor about these options.
