With its programme “Research at Universities of Applied Sciences” the BMBF funds application-oriented research at Universities of Applied Sciences in the fields of engineering, natural sciences and economics, as well as in the areas of social work, nursing and health sciences (all in separate funding lines).
The European Union (EU) and many other funders support research and development activities in all scientific fields as well as research cooperations between the public and the private sector through a variety of different programmes.
With its Research Strategy 2030, the TH Köln aims to further develop its qualitative and quantitative research activities in the coming years. The expansion of funding opportunities within the institution by creating new formats is a central element of this strategy, offering better perspectives for innovative and socially relevant research ideas.
The information service “Research, International Affairs, Transfer” (= Forschung, Internationales, Transfer/FIT) compiles current funding announcements. By registering for the FIT newsletter, researchers at the TH Köln will be informed about current funding opportunities in relevant subject areas via e-mail at intervals of their choice. The FIT newsletter database can also be used for directly searching for specific subjects and calls.

This workshop, targeted at researchers of the TH Köln, aims to give an overview of relevant funding programmes; together, we will also get to know the essentials of writing a successful application.
Illustrated by the research data life cycle, the basic features of RDM are presented. For each phase of the cycle, tips and tricks are provided in order to simplify your everyday research.
