Semester ticket: Deutschlandticket for students

How do I get my semester ticket?

Step-by-step instructions
1. Open the following link: RIDE Ticketing
2. Enter your CampusID and password and complete the multi-factor authentication.

3. Agree to link your account with the ticketing service (see image on the right).
Please note: If you do not agree to link your account, you will not be able to generate your ticket.
4. Done! Your semester ticket should now be displayed.
5. We recommend saving the semester ticket in the Wallet app on your smartphone to have it available when you are offline. Please also carry an official photo ID with you at all times.
FAQ
I cannot download my ticket.
There may be several reasons for this issue:
Not re-registered
Please go to CaMS to check if you are re-registered for the semester that you want to get the ticket for. It is only possible to generate a ticket if you are re-registered for the respective semester, i.e. if you have paid the semester fees in full and have no re-registration blocks.
Ticket not yet available
The semester ticket for the upcoming semester is available around two weeks before the start of the semester, i.e. mid-August for the winter semester and mid-February for the summer semester. Before these dates, it is not possible to download the ticket.
Not authorized to get a ticket
Most students at TH Köln are entitled to receive a semester ticket. However, there are some exceptions, e.g. for auditing students, students in part-time programs for professionals or students on a leave of absence. These student groups have not paid for a semester ticket and are therefore not authorized to generate a ticket.
Start of a new semester
On the first day of each new semester (March 1 or September 1), the university's IT systems need to run a large number of necessary processes. At the same time, many students try to generate their new semester ticket on these days. This may lead to the servers being temporarily overloaded. We therefore recommend downloading the semester ticket a few days before the start of the new semester. If you have any problems downloading the ticket on the first or second day of the semester despite being re-registered, please try again at a later date.
I have re-registered today but cannot download my ticket. Why?
Please check in CaMS whether you are already re-registered in the system. Your re-registration will only be processed once your semester fees have been received in full. This may take a few days.
Once you are re-registered in CaMS, the remester ticket will be available for download on the next working day as the data needs to be transmitted to the ticketing service first. This process cannot be sped up.
I have downloaded the ticket but it says that it is not valid yet.

If you download the ticket before the validity period (i.e. before the start of the semester), the QR code is displayed with the notification "Noch nicht gültig" (not yet valid). On the first day of the semester (September 1 / March 1), the notification will disappear automatically.
Do I need a Wallet app to use the ticket?
No, you are not required to use a Wallet app. You can also generate the ticket via the link above every time you need it, i.e. for a ticket inspection. However, you need an internet connection to do so. With a Wallet app, the ticket is also available offline and does not need to be generated every time you need it.
Can I use the KVB bikes with the semester ticket?
Yes. Students can use the KVB bikes at a discounted rate. More details are available on the KVB's CAMPUSbike page.
