Workshops, Events and Additional Offers
Graduate Center of TH Köln organizes, coordinates and informs about numerous events and workshops for early stage researchers to create a scientific network and access other core competencies such as the development of individual qualifications or the enhancement of soft skills for a successful accomplishment of a doctoral or postdoctoral project.

The qualification program for early stage-researchers at TH Köln includes interdisciplinary workshops related to scientific writing or presentations of scientific content in German and English, next to further qualification training in terms of didactics as well as seminars concerning a future career in a scientific environment. Besides, workshops exclusively for research topics such as “Good scientific practice” or “Publishing Strategies” are offered.
Many workshops are offered in cooperation with the Department Key Skills and the Language Center. Language courses and workshops for time management or work-life-balance are part of the program for doctoral researchers, complemented by network activities such as the yearly Afternoon for doctoral researchers. Information regarding events and training programs are regularly provided via mail.
The only requirement for a participation in training programs is either to be enrolled as a cooperative doctoral researcher at TH Köln and another university or an employment-relationship within the doctoral research needs to be present.
