Competencies of researchers

+ ResearchComp

The European Competence Framework for Researchers (ResearchComp for short) was published in 2023 by the European Commission in consultation with stakeholders and the existing ESCO classification. It forms a competence framework for the systematic identification, assessment, and further development of competencies for researchers. Based on this, an Excel tool was developed that all postdocs can use to analyze their competence level.

The current Research Profile (R1 to R4) is calculated based on the selected skill levels of the 38 competencies. In addition, it is possible to plan which competencies you would like to develop further in the following year. The “Offers” tab in the Excel spreadsheet contains links to various training opportunities for the individual competencies.
