When to go
Due to the variety of opportunities to go abroad, it is up to you to decide when going abroad fits your schedule depending on your study programme and your individual plans. In any case we strongly advise you to contact the international advisors of your faculty and the international office well in advance to discuss and plan your individual stay abroad. Keep in mind to stay updated on possible application deadlines and documents required for your application. The earlier you start preparing your stay abroad, the better!

Language skills are important when going abroad. It is also important to consider whether you will be able to understand you colleagues at work or the lectures you would like to attend at university. However, don't let the fact that you are not completely fluent in English (or the language of your chosen host country) scare you off. Taking a language class before leaving for your stay abroad is always a great idea.

To ensure that you will receive recognition for the courses you successfully completed abroad, it is crucial to get in touch with your respective contact person for international affairs at the Faculty of Automotive Systems and Production before the mobility.
A so-called Learning Agreement, including all the educational components to be carried out by the student, is a great way to provide a transparent and efficient preparation of the study period abroad and to ensure that you will receive recognition in your degree for the educational components successfully completed.
