Internationalization at the Faculty of Automotive Systems and Production
In accordance with the University Development Plan of TH Köln, the Faculty of Automotive Systems and Production has developed an official Internationalization Strategy which serves as a framework for the specific services offered to national and international students.
Studying or working abroad has become very popular amongst students, yet it is not only about the personal experience. In an increasingly globalized world having studied or worked abroad has become a major asset when entering the job market. Students of our faculty gain valuable personal and professional experience while doing an internship or studying abroad at one of our selected partner universities. In addition, the Faculty of Automotive Systems and Production offers a unique double degree program at Bachelor level in cooperation with our partner in Mexico. However, international experience and intercultural competences cannot only be gained abroad but also at TH Köln by meeting incoming international students from all over the world.
Vice Dean change
After successful 8 years, Prof. Dr. Rainer Haas hands over his office as Vice Dean for International Affairs of the Faculty of Automotive Systems and Production to his successor Prof. Dr. Michael Frantzen. During his tenure, the faculty achieved a kind of pioneering role among engineering faculties in the field of internationalization, among other things, because he was one of the first faculties to develop and implement its own internationalization strategy together with his staff. In addition, he was actively involved in the development of TH Köln's Internationalization Strategy 2030 and established a double degree program with the University of the Basque Country for the Automotive Engineering Bachelor degree program. The information offered on stays abroad was also significantly improved under his leadership, among other things through translations into English.
