Workshop Content

In this workshop, participants will work specifically on developing their oral skills in English, with a particular focus on overcoming inhibitions when speaking. They will learn to express themselves more fluently and to respond spontaneously and appropriately to conversation partners. They will expand their range of linguistic tools for various forms of oral communication, enabling them to interact in English with greater confidence and effectiveness.

Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • introduce themselves appropriately to others
  • participate appropriately in formal and informal conversations, discussions, and other forms of oral interaction with a higher degree of spontaneity and confidence
  • initiate and maintain oral communication
  • exchange ideas on current affairs, take a position, and defend one's own point of view appropriately
  • express complaints and criticism in a linguistically and culturally appropriate and effective manner.

Pedagogical Approach

In the workshop, participants expand their oral language skills through creative tasks, team activities, and practical role-plays.

They take part in debates and discussions and carry out simulations of relevant communication situations in different social settings (individual, pair, and group work). This helps them develop the ability to respond more spontaneously and naturally in oral communication situations.

In doing so, they also take (linguistic) risks and, as part of the learning process, work together on their own mistakes and those of other participants.
