  • Cologne University of Applied Sciences Teaching Award 2018
    In 2018, Prof. Dr Konrad Scherfer was awarded the Teaching Prize of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, together with his colleagues Prof. Dr Matthias Böhmer and Prof. Dr Christian Zabel. Their teaching concept, “Design and Development of a Digital Media App”, was entirely focused on interdisciplinary collaboration: students from the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Online Journalism, Computer Science and Business Administration worked together to design, evaluate and develop a functional prototype of an app.

Konrad Scherfer has been a professor of media studies at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Cologne since 2003. Prior to that, he studied media studies at the University of Siegen and worked as an online editor at Südwestrundfunk in Stuttgart. .

Konrad Scherfer has been a voluntary member of the Grimme Institute’s Advisory Board (Marl) since 2006.
