    The storage of energy is a long-known principle in the heat supply of buildings for ensur-ing optimal efficiency and a necessity in the integration of renewable energy. A new form of ice storage as a buried water reservoir has been increasingly used in recent years. Since in many cases there is uncertainty about the solar energy flows during loading and un-loading, in this study the heat transfer conditions of the solar collectors as a heat source are analyzed both for the heat pump and for the ice storage from radiation and ambient air. Part 1 discusses the thermodynamic boundary conditions which dominate the heat yield and determine heat quantities by way of example.
