Flying Faculty Program of the German Jordanian University - Call for Applications

Professors and lecturers at TH Köln can apply for the GJU's Flying Faculty Program until March 1, 2026.


Flying Faculty 2026 at GJU
Due to remaining funds within the Flying Faculty Program of the German Jordanian University (GJU) and Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences (h2), a second call 2026 invites lecturers from German partner universities to apply for a stay at the GJU, Jordan. Through the GJU and h2 Flying Faculty Program, faculty from German universities and universities of applied sciences are funded to teach at GJU during a short stay to participate in shaping and strengthening the German dimension at the GJU.

What is the Flying Faculty Program?
The Flying Faculty Program was established to enhance the exchange of expertise between GJU and its German partner universities. The program supports professors/lecturers especially from the partner universities to teach specific courses at GJU that add value and expertise to the regular curriculum offered by the faculties as well as educational activities of the Deanship for Innovation and Technology Transfer (DI-TECH). It is meant to strengthen the German Dimension of GJU through teaching.

Who can participate?
Professors and lecturers from German partner universities who would like to give a course in the associated school at GJU or DI-TECH can participate. 

Program Procedure:
Generally, Flying Faculty visits can take place throughout the year except for the month of December. Courses can be given in a hybrid format or on-site. Lecturers teach 20 hours. (20 teaching hours, of which at least 15 hours are taught on-site, and 5 hours are taught online). For detailed information regarding funding see paragraph “funding”.

Application Process
Please send your current CV and application form as well as details about your desired assignment at GJU, such as your desired department (information on faculties and courses on their respective websites), course title if applicable, and time availability (in English, as one PDF document).
! We highly recommend reaching out to the schools during the preparation of your application to make sure that both teaching content and the period of stay match the needs of the schools. Also, please consult the academic calendar of the GJU when indicating the preferred period of stay !

Funding:
To cover the costs of accommodation and travel to and from the campus (Madaba/Amman), the GJU Project Office will pay FF a daily rate of €126.00 from TNE funding for each day that classes are conducted by them, but for a maximum of seven days. This will be paid in a lump sum after the return of the FF based on the "Letter of Confirmation" to reimburse for costs initially borne by the FF. Weekend days off (in Jordan Friday and Saturday) will also be paid at this daily rate, if they are within the teaching period. Arrival and departure days are not included in the payment. For payment, please send your full name and completed account information form to the IAD and GJU Project Office.
Travel costs including round-trip airline ticket (economy class) and train ticket to and from the airport in Germany are additionally covered by the GJU Project Office.
GJU, itself, covers an hourly rate of 29€ per taught teaching hour (50 minutes).
The deadline for submitting the application documents is 1st of March 2026.
