Laboratory for Logistics IT

Information technology is the essential key technology for entrepreneurial activity in the fields of production and logistics.  The use of IT is decisive when it comes to expanding competitive advantages, using resources more efficiently or designing new products and structuring production processes flexibly. Likewise, modern approaches such as "cloud computing", "mobile services", "Internet of Things", "Big Data" or "Production 4.0" can only be implemented with state-of-the-art information technology.

In the Laboratory for Logistics IT a multitude of systems are available to understand concepts, applications and development processes of logistics IT. In addition to the most important business management systems, such as ERP, WMS, SCM, the students can use database systems, programming environments, and corresponding modeling tools.

We work and experiment for example with: SAP Business By Design (ERP), Assecco APplus (ERP), myWMS (WMS), Ramco iPO (Advanced Planning & Optimization), Aris Express (BPMN), mySQL (database), SQL, HTML, Qlik (Business Intelligence), Llamasoft (SCM Design).
