  • Europa (er)leben – Habitons l’Europe ensemble 2025
    The intercultural project “Europa (er)leben” (“Habitons l’Europe ensemble”) invites students to explore and creatively engage with the question of how we inhabit, design, and experience spaces together, particularly in the European context. This is a research-oriented, practical design project in collaboration with students and teachers from the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design Toulon Provence Méditerranée (ésadtpm). The project is funded by the Office for University Cooperation of the French Embassy in Germany, the Franco-German Youth Office, and the Franco-German University.
  • European Studies in Design
    The Master of European Design (MEDes) is five year programme existing over more than 25 years made by a network of seven European design schools: Ensci - Les Ateliers, GSA - Glasgow School of Arts, Konstfack University, KISD TH Köln, Aalto University, Politecnico di Milano and Aveiro University. Students in this network spend a total of two years at two different universities abroad before returning to their home university in their final year to complete their master's degree. These diverse experiences provide them with different approaches to design, multi-national perspectives and sensitivity to cultural differences. The MEDes course encourages and enables students to develop their creativity and imagination, their design research and investigation skills, and their professional executive practice.

  • Eurofabrique 2022 - 2024
    EuroFabrique is a nomadic and international art project that invites the creative youth to collaboratively create and transmit their visions and creative narratives of the future of Europe. It was initiated in 2022 by GrandPalaisRmn, the École des Arts Décoratifs Paris, and ANdÉA – French National Association of Public Art & Design Schools – as part of the French presidency of the Council of the European Union. KISD participated with students and staff in workshops and exhibitions in France, Romania and Portugal.

  • International Week KISD – Digging 2023
    Funded as a Blended Intensive ERASMUS Programme the first International Week at KISD was realized in 2023. The week’s overall motto was »Digging« Digging into our cultures, into soil, a brick into a wall. There are multiple options for digging in the field of design. We wanted to explore some of them, change perspectives of design(ers), use the power of observation and work with our hands. Stimulating international and interdisciplinary exchange and offering an informal platform for discussing design education. The following partner institutions joined with students and/or academic staff: Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Finland HIT Holon Institute of Technology, Israel Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal University of Zagreb, Croatia Politecnico di Milano, Italy ENSCI – Les Ateliers, France Universidad de Chile.
