New Language Course Formats in English at the Language Learning Center

The new short courses focus on key transferable competencies such as presenting and pitching in English, as well as taking part in and holding workshops and panel discussions. 

Particularly successful was the short course ‘Pitching with Impact’, in which students developed and pitched their ideas for products and services in small groups. They learned to apply appropriate rhetorical techniques, to provide detailed descriptions, and to co-develop ideas using respectful and diplomatic language. In addition, students were introduced to the key factors for a successful pitch, including theories of story-telling, the development of a product and a pitch deck, and ethical and sustainability considerations. Beyond this, students were invited to reflect on the features of an entrepreneurial mindset and consider their own strengths and talents using Lego® Serious Play®.

Following feedback from students and reflection and analysis within the team, course titles, content, and intended learning outcomes were tweaked to reflect the students’ needs. We are very happy to continue to offer these new formats in summer semester 2026:

Depending on the scope of the course, students can gain 1 to 3 ECTS points.
