On June 23, the Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems will showcase its expertise in climate change adaptation at the inaugural Resilience Expo 2025, an exhibition dedicated to climate change adaptation in Neuss, Germany. This event provides a platform to present innovative technologies and approaches for addressing the challenges of climate change.

Local and Global Activities

At Resilience Expo 2025, the Faculty will host its own booth to present its extensive efforts in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer related to climate change adaptation. The focus will be on projects and collaborations that span both local and global levels. Highlights include municipal climate adaptation initiatives in Kolpingstadt Kerpen, as well as international partnerships in Southeast Asia, the Nile Basin, and Bangladesh.

The trade fair presentation covers several key areas:

  • Modeling and digital applications: Highlights include the IrriGap irrigation tool, specifically developed for viticulture in Chile
  • Maps and cartography: Maps from projects like ARKE, Co-Site, and PolyUrbanWaters will be on display, showcasing approaches to risk analysis and solution planning.
  • Catalogs of climate adaptation measures: Featuring concepts such as green-blue infrastructure, the sponge city model, and integrated water resources management.
  • Visual approaches to climate adaptation: Visitors can explore posters, 3D-printed landscape models, and materials from ongoing projects, offering fresh perspectives through virtual excursions.
  • Education and knowledge sharing: Participatory formats from projects like DatKlim and Co-Site, including hands-on examples such as an virtual excursion.

Target Audience

The exhibition is designed for stakeholders from the private sector, government, academia, and civil society. Its goal is to foster dialogue and showcase technological, nature-based, and participatory approaches to climate change adaptation.
