The most common tasks of automotive engineers can be found in the following areas: research and development, construction, tests, expert assessment.

Further possible fields of activity include occupational safety, quality management, environmental protection, production, logistics or teaching.
In addition to the well-known work fields, engineers can also work in many other areas, such as consulting, marketing or human resources.
