Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics
New demographic, economic and climate pressures influence the availability of safe and sustainable supplies of food, water and energy. These developments require new strategies to manage our precious natural resources. In order to face this global challenge, the demand for experts with the ability to analyze complex human-environmental systems and develop suitable solutions is growing. With their highly unstable environment, tropical and subtropical regions often pose additional challenges.
The Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics (ITT) at Cologne University of Applied Sciences aims to enable people of various technical and cultural backgrounds to better solve the complex issues related to environmental problems. Pursuing an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach, we offer high-quality programs at postgraduate level. Studying at the ITT does not only mean obtaining a Master’s degree but going beyond one’s professional and personal limits. Through manifold trainings and modern methods of teaching and learning, we put the concept of lifelong learning into practice and put the student at the center of our education efforts. We believe that our alumni are an important part of the global network of scientists and professionals.
In addition to providing teaching, research and capacity development worldwide, we also cooperate with major organizations on a regional, national and international level in a variety of fields: resources management, development co-operation and higher education.
