Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Degree An undergraduate degree (Bachelor's degree or higher) in the field of computer science or a suitable related field with a final grade of 2.5 (German grading system) or better. Additional admission requirements apply (see below for details).

A commission consisting of full-time professors teaching at TH Köln is charged with the decision whether a program from a related field is deemed suitable.

Additional requirements - Specialization: Information Systems

1) Proof of English language proficiency

a) TOEFL with a minimum score of 550 points on the paper-based test or 213 points on the computer-based test or 80 points on the internet-based test.

b) IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 or equivalent

c) Higher Education Entrance Qualification or undergraduate degree from an institution where the language of instruction is English

d) Secondary education at a school where the language of instruction is German and with the subject "English" being taught as a fixed part of the curriculum for at least six school years

e) An (undergraduate) degree in a suitable field, which includes English language classes worth at least 30 ECTS credits

2) Demonstration of motivation to succeed in pursuing the Master's program

Applicants are required to detail their motivation for pursuing the Master's program in a 2-page cover letter, written in English.

This cover letter may be used to determine an applicant's aptitude for the program. Applications without cover letter will not be considered.
