Research project reveals first care treasures from caregiving families

The first care treasures are available online. The project website presents examples of care treasures that were documented as part of the research project – you can find them here

The collection offers an insight into the diverse solutions that families with children in need of care develop in everyday life – and at the same time recognizes their knowledge and innovative strength.

Living with a child in need of care presents families with many challenges in everyday life – whether in areas of mobility, communication, care, or participation. To meet these challenges, many parents and relatives develop their own creative solutions that make everyday life easier, save time, or open up new possibilities. These practical everyday aids and ideas are made visible in the Pflegeschätze research project.

Care treasures are not medical products, but tried-and-tested, personal solutions from everyday family life. They range from simple technical adjustments and organizational tricks to social and communication strategies. What they all have in common is that they come from caregiving families themselves – and have proven themselves in their everyday lives.
