Career development
In order to recruit professors, you need young researchers. That is why TH Köln accompanies doctoral candidates and postdocs in their academic development of competence with the program "Karriere hoch 3".
A career in academia or in business? Once the decision has been made for one career path, another one closes off - or so the general assumption. The two areas are rarely considered as one, and switching between the academic world and the business sector often proves difficult.
This is about to change: With the career development program K³, doctoral students and postdocs acquire both academic competencies and practical knowledge, learn to use synergies and find transparency about possible career paths.
Goal
The goal is for participants to have the necessary competencies for a career in academia and*or business. They are free to decide which career options they choose, e.g. professorship, tandem professorship or a career in the business sector.
Contents
The measures in K³ are based on the triad of teaching, research and practice and connect the areas with each other. During the program, participants come to grips with the areas and their overlaps, create synergies and develop a holistic way of thinking.
