Joint Efforts for Enhanced Mobility: PIONEER Workshop at the Universidad de Huelva
In May, a workshop was held at the University of Huelva, where representatives of the PIONEER Alliance worked together on the “PIONEER Mobility and Internationalisation Plan”. This plan represents a key milestone in the ‘Mobility and Internationalisation for All’ work package and forms the basis for the further development of mobility opportunities within the Alliance.
Christina Brey, Felixa Wingen and Svenja Fillep-Kühn from the Department of International Affairs represented TH Köln.
The central task of the ‘Mobility and Internationalisation for All’ work package is to facilitate the various forms of mobility (physical, virtual, blended) for students, academic and non-academic university staff, and stakeholders within the higher education ecosystems. The aim is to realise a resilient and inclusive PIONEER Open Campus from which all the aforementioned target groups benefit.
The workshop focused on moderated working groups addressing key topics: incentivising student mobility, harmonising mobility processes, expanding virtual teaching offerings, staff exchanges, and increasing the range of courses taught in English. In addition, supplementary offerings such as welcome packs for prospective students, language courses, intercultural training, and traineeship schemes were discussed in detail.
A key part of the workshop was the joint discussion of the working results in daily plenary sessions, with the aim of clarifying outstanding issues and agreeing on the next steps for implementing the plan within the Alliance. This enabled substantial progress to be made, ensuring the sustainable development of the collaboration.
Overall, the workshop was very productive. Numerous outstanding issues were addressed constructively, and the and the face-to-face discussions contributed significantly to strengthening the sense of togetherness within the alliance.
