International guest researchers scholars make an important contribution to the internationalization of academic affairs at TH Köln. In order to be able to welcome as many international guest researchers scholars as possible in the future and to integrate them well at the university, the Dept. of International Affairs has set up a new structural unit: the International Scholar Services (ISS).

The International Scholar Services (ISS) serve as a central contact point for all matters concerning the stay abroad of scientists. They advise and support future and current guest scholars at TH Köln, faculties that would like to host a guest researcher as well as members of TH Köln, who are planning a stay abroad themselves.

This new service unit is intended to ensure that international scientists find their way around the university quickly and easily, feel comfortable and can carry out their teaching and research projects in the best possible way. The aim is to increase the attractiveness of a stay in the faculties for both guests and hosts, so that the number of international guest scholars can be increased in the long term. TH Köln hopes the stays of guest scholars will contribute to its Internationalization@Home and to an increasing profile and strategic networking in the international scientific community.

The International Scholar Services are being developed as a project of the Department of International Affairs on behalf of the Presidential Board of TH Köln as "measures for the recruitment and support of international guest scholars at TH Köln" with an initial duration of 3 years. The ISS is currently still in the development stage. After the initial focus was set on optimizing the legal framework and organizational processes within the administration, special offers and information are now being bundled and developed. Information will be published on the TH Köln website during the winter semester 2020/21 and will also be partly made available in print form. Advice and support for visiting scientists and members of TH Köln are already available on request.

The ISS are part of the Department of International Affairs at Südstadt campus.
