Projects and schemes to boost gender equality

In accordance with its gender mainstreaming principle, TH Köln considers gender equality to be an issue that affects every aspect of the university. Consequently, most of the measures and schemes to promote gender equality are not implemented by the Equal Opportunities Office itself, but instead are undertaken in the areas that the programs’ content relates to.

Since 2016, Graduate Center offers a coaching program for female doctoral researchers in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office and the Center for Teaching Development. A coaching program for male doctoral researchers has been set up since 2018. Show more

Mathilde-von-Mevissen Funding

TH Köln has set itself the task of getting involved in the promotion of young talent and personnel development in order to counter the so-called “leaky pipeline”, the steady decline in the proportion of women in advancing career levels. This requires broad funding with appropriate measures at all levels of an academic career. Show more

Gender competence in teaching and studies

The university-wide project “Gender as action competence and transdisciplinary analysis perspective – social innovation in teaching and studies” or “Gender competence in teaching and studies” for short began in March 2020 and is set to continue until 2024. The project aims to permanently embed gender as an action competence and transdisciplinary analysis perspective in all faculties of TH Köln. Show more
