KI-ssist
The research project KI-ssist (AI-based assistance platform for industrial use) is funded by the European Union and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia through the EFRE/JTF NRW Programme 2021–2027. It addresses the robust, reliable, ecologically sound, and legally compliant use of Large Language Models (LLMs) as a key topic in applied artificial intelligence for industrial applications, with a specific focus on data-driven platforms commonly used in industrial service and operator assistance contexts. The project develops core components of an integration layer, enabling the robust integration and continuous monitoring of LLMs. In parallel, it investigates the legal and life-cycle assessment conditions for deploying LLM-based systems, translating the findings into practical guidance and support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In doing so, KI-ssist contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of both the digital sector and traditional industries in North Rhine-Westphalia.
