Research fields

  • Motion Data I analyze motion data from various sensor modalities. This involves the segmentation and classification of motion based on machine learning techniques.
  • Wearables: Body-worn sensors, so called wearables, can be used to capture data out of lab environments. I work on the development of new wearables and the processing of captured data.
  • Visualization Visualizations of complex data needs to be adapted for users from different domains. I research how simple representations of data can be used to transfer as much information as possible.
  • Secure data transfer and storage: Personal data (e.g. health data) need to be transferred and stored in a secure way. Here, we not only need to be compliant to regulations (GDPR, HIPAA) but also must protect data from potential attacks.
