PV, Hydrogen and Battery Storage Integration in On- and Off-Grid Systems

Sustainable alternatives to diesel generators in isolated communities within the Brazilian Amazon

This project is a collaboration between the Fotovoltaica/UFSC laboratory and the Cologne Institute for Renewable Energy (CIRE) of TH Köln and aims to explore the technical and economic feasibility of employing photovoltaics and its integration in on- and off-grid systems by means of hydrogen and battery storage, specifically specially as sustainable alternatives to diesel generators in isolated communities within the Brazilian Amazon, and as an alternative for traditional grid extension within the German energy transition process.
