Evaluation, conceptual design and implementation of information models and applications for system components in the context of Industry 4.0 and Building Information Modeling
n the first project step, this research project evaluates the mappability of current information models for system components, e.g. pumps, to the models of the developing market standards from Industry 4.0 and Building Information Modeling (BIM). The primary goal is to develop an interoperable, easily expandable and flexible information model for system components for use in process and building automation. Developments in the context of Industry 4.0 in particular enable the implementation of innovative business models with regard to cross-manufacturer and cloud-based applications, which are to be examined for their market potential in the second stage of the project. Based on the developed information model and selected application scenarios, prototype applications are implemented in the third project step, e.g. from energy, maintenance, documentation management, monitoring and BIM applications, etc.
