Quality management of building automation based on cloud-based functional tests

Over the last 40 years, building services systems have been closely interlinked through automation systems. In practice, however, major quality deficits in building systems are known, including with regard to dimensioning, functional planning, hydraulics, parameterization and operation. Existing tools do not enable effective quality management, as they are based on visual inspections. The project will develop new testing methods and technologies for technical building systems. The focus will be on active principle tests of automated and cross-system functionalities, e.g. between CO2 sensor and volume flow controller, between ventilation and heating systems or between fire alarm systems and ventilation systems. The aim is to develop efficient and sustainably documented testing methods and tools for digital quality management through digital testing processes. This includes the development of standardized and digitalized test scenarios based on e.g. temporal logics and virtual control loops, software development for cloud-based test services with interfaces and edge devices as well as their testing.
