Companion Specification for Pumps

Mapping the Industry 4.0 AAS for pumps and vacuum pumps
The aim of the project is to map the administration shell for pumps and vacuum pumps to the OPC UA communication standard. To this end, an extended working group of national and international pump manufacturers is specifying an OPC UA Companion Specification in the form of a VDMA standard sheet. A workshop will be held at the end of the specification work to support interested member companies in implementing the OPC UA mapping in products. Mapping the asset administration shell in the semantic online repository eCl@ss (Advanced Structure) serves to ensure global uniqueness of the specified characteristics for pumps and vacuum pumps (second project objective). The necessary conceptual design of the structure and positioning of the specified submodels in the Advanced Structure of eCl@ss, as well as the resolution of semantic conflicts, is carried out in close cooperation with working groups of the eCl@ss organization. A common understanding and acceptance of emerging standards is fundamental for all specifications in the Industry 4.0 environment - even beyond the boundaries of manufacturers and users of the standardized system components. This anchoring (third project objective) is achieved through the presentation and discussion of the specified submodels in Industrie 4.0 working groups and intensive committee work (Plattform Industrie 4.0).
