Building Performance

Compulsory subject for all Bachelor students - The overall project “Building Performance” consists of the modules Building Performance 1 and 2.

Module content according to module handbook

Building Performance 1:

Building Performance 2:

The focus of Building Performance 1 is the design of suitable performance indicators for analyzing the operation and the recording of measured values for calculating the performance indicators. Building Performance 2 is based on the performance analyses of Building Performance 1 and focuses on the optimization of building operation through the design of suitable measures to increase building performance and their evaluation from an economic, ecological and social perspective. - Classroom teaching & project work on real buildings.

Based on project-oriented teaching methods, students analyze optimization potential in the operation of real building objects, define and develop performance indicators and design concepts for improving building performance.

To this end, students are able to create and interpret building balances with regard to energy, economic, ecological and life cycle issues. They evaluate results from a building balance sheet, identify trends and design solution concepts for optimizing and monitoring building performance.

Students will be able to analyze operational processes in technical facility management and design, implement and monitor solution concepts for optimization. They will be able to apply new findings in engineering and natural sciences, taking into account safety, ecological and economic requirements.
