W2 Professorship for Psychology with a Particular Focus on/Concentration in Public Health

Your Responsibilities

The successful candidate will represent the area of psychology, psychosocial health and provision with a particular focus on individual life courses and individual case support in both the Bachelor and Master degree programs of the Faculty of Applied Sciences. We are looking for a candidate that, while doing so, integrates expertise from the field of public health. In addition, you will offer courses on social medicine as well as on gender competence with respect to counseling, education, and organizations. Furthermore, you will teach in the master program gender and queer studies. You are expected to offer courses in German and English and contribute to the further development of the Institute for Gender Studies. Through your research activity you will strengthen the faculty’s research profile and will raise external funds. You will be involved in the faculty’s and the institute’s self-administration with the willingness to assume leadership responsibility for organizational, research- and teaching-related processes.

Your Profile

Applicants should hold a university degree in psychology or medicine, a PhD, and have a proven track-record in public health. In addition, you have profound knowledge in the field of gender studies as well as several years of experience in the field of psychosocial work, ideally as a psychological/psychosocial professional offering individual case support.

We are looking for an individual with teaching experience and strong didactical skills. You are interested in applying contemporary methods of teaching and competence-oriented teaching. Ability to orient your thought and activities towards the long-term goals of the university and to work on solutions in a joint, collaborative, and reliable manner are expected. You have a capacity for teamwork and are willing to actively contribute to the institute of gender studies in a cooperative and responsible way.
