KISDtalks: Theories and Practice of Design
Breg Horemans, Gert-Jan Stam, Theatre Makers & Architects
KISD – Köln International School of Design
During their successful cooperation for a DIY theatre installation for the Worldexpo Floriade 2012 in Venlo, Dutch theater maker Gert-Jan Stam and Belgian architect Breg Horemans discovered how their respective disciplines could challenge and enrich each other. They started working together as TAAT, operating on the cutting edge of theater, architecture, the visual arts, and design. TAAT projects show a strong social involvement and apply an “offline open source” process of transdisciplinary, experienced-based co-creation. KISD is a partner in the project HALL06 (Brussels, May 2017), the 6th subproject on the long-term research project HALL33, a building that is a play and a play that is a building. The talk will be held in English language.
The KISDtalks are a public lecture series on relevant perspectives of design. They give open space for an open-minded and profound analysis of current and future issues of design, culture, society, technology, and different scientific disciplines. Topics are interdisciplinary, integrative, and provide internationality by domestic and international speakers.
The KISDtalks always take place on Tuesday at 5.30 pm. The 60-90 minutes-long presentations with “Q&A“ are a public event and free of charge.
