The current situation in the People's Republic of China raises questions that also affect members of TH Köln. University employees and students are asked to read this information carefully.

Due to the current situation in the Chinese province of Hubei, which is characterized by the spread of the novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV and its consequences, all official business travels to China by employees of TH Köln have been suspended until further notice. Existing travel permissions will be revoked.

In addition, TH Köln's Executive Board recommends all universtiy members to take note of the latest information and current travel and safety advice on the website of the German Federal Foreign Office.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) maintains close contact with its scholarship holders, their families and local employees. Information on the current situation is also provided on the DAAD website.

Exchange students from the People's Republic of China, who are planning a stay abroad at TH Köln, are currently subject to much more restrictive regulations than at the beginning of the preparations for this exchange. They are in some cases currently not allowed to leave their home areas or require health certificates. Exchange students from China are – after they have gone through all measures potentially initiated by the Chinese authorities – of course still very welcome to spend their semester abroad at TH Köln.
