Online Survey for Students: Internationality of Study Programs - Your Opinion is Important to Us!

What exactly is it all about?

How do you assess the internationality of TH Köln? Which specific offers for international and internationally mobile students do you know and use? What experiences have you had during your semester abroad? Or why have you not (yet) completed a study-related stay abroad? And how satisfied are international students with the support provided by TH Köln?

In cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), we would like to examine these and other questions and therefore we invite all students of TH Köln to participate in a nationwide student survey.

The study is intended to provide a comprehensive picture of students' stays abroad as well as to contribute to increasing the quantity and quality of experiences abroad. This also includes the experiences of international students at TH Köln. In addition, we would like to find out where support services offered by higher education institutions are useful and how they can be improved.

With your participation, you can help to optimize the services offered to (international) students on the topic of "internationalization of studies" and "study-related stays abroad". Students who are not interested in stays abroad are also very important for the informative value of the results.

How can I participate?

You can participate via a link that was sent to you in an e-mail via your TH-Mail account (smail). The survey period lasts from November 30 to January 15, 2021.

Detailed information on data protection within the project can be found on the survey's homepage. Participation in the survey is of course voluntary.

Your participation will be rewarded! There are great prizes to win…

Among all participants, the DAAD will raffle off prizes worth around 17.000 Euros, including notebooks from Apple, Lenovo or Microsoft as well as tablets from Apple or Samsung.

TH Köln is also giving away 20 book and media vouchers worth 25 Euros each as well as 3 mobility grants of 250 Euros each for your next study-related stay abroad, starting until and including December 2024.

Background of the online survey

The online survey entitled "How international is your study program?" is carried out at more than 60 universities throughout Germany and is initiated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The online survey is part of the project "Benchmark Internationale Hochschule" (BintHo), which aims to support German higher education institutions in their efforts to promote their internationalization in a data-supported and practice-oriented manner. It offers the possibility to use the survey data for monitoring the internationalization efforts and to compare them with those of the other participating institutions.

The study is financed by the DAAD with funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and operationally coordinated and conducted by the Institute for Statistics (ISTAT). TH Köln is expected to receive the first results in April 2021.

Further details and background information on the mobility study "Benchmark Internationale Hochschule (BintHo)" are available here [only available in German].
